Reema Sen: Sexy, Seductive and Scandalous

Reema Sen is a hot and sexy Indian actress and model. Not to be confused with Raima Sen, Rimi Sen or Riya Sen. Reema Sen was born to a middle class family in Kolkata. She studied in Calcutta and then moved with her family to Mumbai, where she began her professional career as a model.
She appeared in several ad campaigns in Mumbai before she landed her first movie assignment in “Chitram”, a low-budget Telugu film. In this minor movie in 2000, Reema played the character Janaki, a bewildered young Indian student who just arrived from the Unites States. Her love interest in the movie was played by Uday Kiran, with whom her character had an early pregnancy.
Her other movie, “Minnale”, was much more successful. It is a comedic Tamil movie that was released in 2001 on Valentine’s Day and received positive reviews. Some critics described the movie as having a “lot of verve and vigor” and that it was “technically excellent”.

“Minnale” catapulted Reema to stardom, having shared the spotlight with other known Indian movie stars such as Madhavan who played the role of Rajesh Shivakumar, Abbas as Rajiv Samuel, and Vivek as Chockalingam. Reema Sen was Reena Joseph.
Her other Tamil movies were “Jay Jay” and “Enakku 20 Unakku 18” in 2003, “Chellamae” and “Giri” in 2004, “Thimiru”, “Vallavan” and “Rendu” in 2006, “Aayirathil Oruvan” in 2010, and “Rajapattai” and a film by Rajkumar in 2011. She is clearly one of the busiest Indian actresses today, having starred in many other films in Telugu, Hindi and Bengali language. She also appeared in the music video, “Chandini Raatein”.
While she played several major roles in a number of top grossing Indian films, Reema gained infamy for having received obscenity charges from the Madurai court. Along with another sexy star, Shilpa Shetty, the actress was issued a non-bailable warrant for “posing in an obscure manner”. Although Bollywood (and Tollywood, for Telugu films) is now the second most popular movie industry in the world next to Hollywood, India maintains strict decency rules that are consistent with the country’s conservatism and religiosity.

Reema was issued a warrant for failing to comply with an earlier summon, again with Shilpa Shetty. The charge particularly pertains to the two actresses’ sexy photos that were published in Dinakaran, a leading Tamil newspaper. The petitioner claims that the famous female actors were shown in “very sexy blow-ups and medium blow-ups” in the newspaper’s December 2005 and January 2006 issues.
The petitioner also demands that the images be confiscated and retrieved so that the public may stop viewing it. The demand for confiscation is allegedly based on the Press and Registration section of Book Act 1867. The demand claims that the images allegedly violated the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986, the Indian Penal Code Section 292 (Sale of Obscene Books), and Young Persons (Harmful Publications) Act 1956.
However, Reema’s many sexy photos are found everywhere in the Internet. There are large collections of her even sexier photos in Cyberspace. Reema is truly one of the prettiest and hottest Indian stars today.
Yet, she clearly is not just a pretty face. Reema Sen has won two important acting awards. One was as Best Female Debut (2000) for “Minnale” and the other was as Most Entertaining Actress (2010) for “Aayirathil Oruvan”.
